Universal
Governing Value Statement: Commitment to Excellence
Vince Lombardi once said: The quality of a
persons life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless
of their chosen field of endeavor. Along the same line, Lee Iococca said that he
only had one goal: to be the best, there is no other choice. Excellence is
going far beyond the call of duty; doing more than others expect. Excellence is achieving
the superlative. It comes from striving for and maintaining the highest standards; looking
after all the details and going the extra mile. Excellence means doing your best in
everything. In every way. I will strive to achieve a personal commitment to excellence
upon which all other values, goals and commitments will be based. While accepting natural
human limitations, I will seek to continually demonstrate excellence at every possible
opportunity: In all my dealings with others; in my work. I will question myself with
regularity Is what I am doing or about to do an expression of excellence? Am I
living up to my potential for excellence?

Career Value Statement
I will seek excellence in my
professional performance. Requisite energy will be extended to insure accomplishments
consistent with my professional goals are realized. In return for my dedication to this
goal, I resolve to pursue financial independence. The achievement of financial
independence will ultimately yield a livable income whether or not I am capable of
working. I will also strive to put forward a positive attitude and encourage others who
work with me to stretch their talents and grow. People should expect leaders with
character and I will be an effective leader.

Interaction Value Statement
People should be left better off
after interacting with another. I will treat people the way that I would expect to be
treated. I will also insist upon high standards from friends and co-workers.

Self-Development Value
Statement
I resolve to demonstrate
excellence in self improvement of spirit, mind and body. I will consistently be
spiritually sound, mentally challenged and physically fit.

Values are the foundation of
our character and of our confidence. A person who does not know what he should stand for
will never enjoy true happiness and success.
